What is a Single Tap Filtration System?

A single tap filtration system connects under your sink and delivers filtered water through a separate dedicated faucet. These systems are ideal for drinking water, cooking, and making beverages.

They come in two main types:

  • Reverse Osmosis (RO): Multi-stage filtration to remove chemicals, heavy metals, and total dissolved solids (TDS)

  • UV Disinfection: Kills bacteria, viruses, and pathogens using ultraviolet light

Frequently Asked Questions

UV systems disinfect water by killing bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms using ultraviolet light — ideal for well water or rural sources.

RO systems use multi-stage filtration to remove chemicals, heavy metals, dissolved solids, and improve taste — ideal for city water or chemical concerns.

Yes! Many people choose to install both. The RO system removes chemical and physical contaminants, while the UV system disinfects the water — especially useful for untreated well water.

Yes. Both RO and UV under-sink systems typically come with a dedicated faucet to deliver the filtered water separately from your main tap.

Most of our single tap systems are designed for DIY installation and come with clear instructions. However, if you're not comfortable with plumbing, a licensed plumber can usually install them in under an hour.

RO Pre/Post-Filters: Every 6–12 months

RO Membrane: Every 2–3 years

UV Lamp: Replace annually (every 12 months), even if it still lights up

UV Quartz Sleeve: Clean every 12 months; replace if stained or cracked

We typically recommend a UV system for well water to kill bacteria and viruses. If you also want to improve taste, odour, or remove tannins and iron, a full treatment plan may include sediment filters, carbon, softeners, or RO.
